Have you made a waterfall technique card? Several years ago I showed my Technique Club members and downline how to made a Waterfall Card. Here’s a photo of the card we made back in 2013! Do you remember that cute stamp set?
I didn’t make another Waterfall card again until last year when I started a new Technique club. At this Technique club I can show them techniques my other Technique club members have already made. It’s been fun repeating techniques that go back as far as 2011. Here’s a photo of the Waterfall Card we made for the technique club last year.
Note: We covered the staples with Cattails that were stamped with the Marble Background Stamp.
As I was preparing for the new technique club I realize why I haven’t made a waterfall card since 2013. I have a little problem with how the front of the Waterfall card looks with the lower panels particularly visible.
The more I looked at the mechanics of the card I realized the panels don’t have to be the same size. The top panel can be longer to cover the partial panels… the 2nd & 3rd panel can be longer as well… from this I created the Deluxe Waterfall Technique Card.
Here’s a photo of the card my monthly Technique events made last spring (for dimensions see below). For this card we have a sideways waterfall!
The more I looked at the mechanics of the Deluxe Waterfall Technique Card I realized the panels can be wider than 2 inches…from this I created the Super Deluxe Waterfall Technique Card.
Here are photos of the two cards I shared in August at Meg Loven, Julie Davison & Mary Ellen Stite’s Vacation Stamping School event.
I’m having so much fun making the Super Deluxe Waterfall Technique Card I made one with the Christmastime Is Here products…
…and one with the Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set.
Below are the instructions for the Deluxe Waterfall Card and the Super Deluxe Waterfall Card.
Note: These instructions are for assembly purposes as they do not list the stamps, card stock colors, designer papers or embossing folders I used. I did list the supplies for the Christmastime Is Here and the Nature’s Beauty Card on the bottom of this post.
Hope you try making these cards… they are easier than they look!
Deluxe Waterfall Technique Card:
Card Base: 5 ½ x 8 ½ scored at 4-1/4.
Cardstock Strip: ¾” x 4”
Waterfall Parts/Panels (card stock or double-sided designer paper): 2 x 2, 2 x 2-3/4, 2 x 3-1/2 & 2 x 4-1/4.
Waterfall Pull: 9-1/2″ x 2″ cardstock scored at 2″,2-3/4″, 3-1/2″, and 4-1/4″. Fold back & forth along the scored lines. At the end of longest panel you need a hole for the ribbon. I use the Delightful Tag Topper Punch or the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
1. Attach 3/4″ x 4″ Cardstock Strip to the front of 5-1/4” x 4” cardstock with brads or staples (cover staples with image) – place 1 inch up from bottom edge.
4. Attach scored Waterfall Pull to the horizontal strip by sliding the long panel (with hole on end) under the horizontal strip. Add a strip of Sticky Strip tape along the bottom edge (back side facing Cardstock Strip) of smallest panel and adhere to the Cardstock strip (bottom edges should be even).
5. Add two strips of Sticky Strip tape on bottom panel of the Waterfall Pull and attach smallest Waterfall Part/Panel (bottom edge should be even with bottom of the Cardstock Strip).
6. Repeat until all Waterfall Parts/Panels are attached (shortest to tallest).
7. Attach ribbon though hole in Waterfall Pull.

WOW! These are all fun and wonderful!! TFS
Thank you Wanda!
I just watched your video on the super deluxe water fall card. I am kind of confused. The instruction s for the water fall part panels the sizes are they for green part or part that you stamped on. If you could tell me which one it is it would be great and the other size either the green or the one to stamp on thanks. Love all the cards.
Hi Cathy, sorry for the confusion. The dimensions I reference are for the finished size of the waterfall parts/panels (which would be the garden green cardstock in the video). Glad you like the cards.
